This documentary details the rich existence of the oldest black neighborhood in the U.S., and its significance as the origin of the southern Civil Rights Movement and the birthplace of jazz. Filming for the documentary began in 2000, but was completed post Hurricane Katrina.

Directed by Dawn Logsdon. Written by Lolis Eric Elie. 68 minutes. 2008.
